Special Service Club Spotlight

Delaware-Lehigh Amateur Radio Club

ARRL Affiliated Clubs · Special Service Club Spotlight

From passing health and welfare traffic during the flood of 1955 to providing communications for the Multiple Sclerosis Society's 150-mile bike tour this year, the D.L.A.R.C. has been an integral part of the community throughout its long history. We are involved with and provide communications for a variety of events and organizations throughout the Lehigh Valley and surrounding area.

As a Special Service Club we welcome and encourage prospective Hams to join us by offering instructional classes in the spring and fall each year. We conduct V.E. sessions monthly and are proud to have assisted countless numbers, young and old, to become part of this wonderful hobby that we all enjoy.

We operate the Christmas City Special Event Station, WX3MAS, every year during the Christmas season and spread good cheer throughout the world from the Pennsylvania cities of Nazareth and Bethlehem. We are active in Field Day and have a club picnic each summer. We actively participate as individuals and as a club in the PA QSO Party and have won the club trophy many times over the last decade. Other activities include a club-sponsored hamfest and ARES/RACES nets which are held on Wednesday nights. It has been our tradition to have a program follow our regular meetings on the first Thursday of each month to provide information, instruction or just plain fun to our 275 members.

Guests are always welcome at all of our meetings and activities so please join us if you are in town. Give a call on W3OK repeater 146.700 or 444.900 (both PL 151.4) and we will be happy to help.

Please visit our Web site for more information on our club, its activities and its members.
