NEWINGTON, CT, Jan 23, 2003--ARRL President Jim Haynie, W5JBP, has appointed Jeff Reinhardt, AA6JR, of Agoura Hills, California, as the 2003 chairman of the League's Public Relations Committee. A veteran committee member, Reinhardt, is also Public Information Coordinator for the ARRL Santa Barbara Section and Public Information Officer for his local club.

"The vision of the PRC's work is one of relevance, immediate impact, working to a long-term objective while maintaining the ability to respond to timely opportunities," Reinhardt said. He said his first order of business would be to schedule a committee conference call to discuss the group's priorities for 2003.

Committee members provide advice and counsel to the League's Media Relations Manager. Members also perform any other tasks as may be decided by the Media Relations Manager or the Board of Directors.

Haynie also appointed some new members to the committee and reappointed several others. New PR Committee members include Southern Florida Section Manager Sherri Brower, W4STB; former Great Lakes Division Director Gary Johnston, KI4LA; and former committee member Dave Greer, N4KZ. Reappointed were former chairman Diane Ortiz, K2DO; Rich Moseson, W2VU; Jim McDonald, KB9LEI; Gary Pearce, KN4AQ; and Bob Josuweit, WA3PZO.

Haynie named West Gulf Division Vice Director David Woolweaver, K5RAV, to serve as the Board of Director's liaison. ARRL Media Relations Manager Jennifer Hagy, N1TDY, will continue to work with the committee as staff liaison.

Reinhardt is a partner in Reinhardt & Reinhardt Advertising. In addition to a long list of accomplishments and community activities, he serves on the Agoura Hills City Council and was recently elected as mayor.
