The main ARRL Web service has been moved to a more capable server system. The dedicated server, hosted at the Verio data center in Sterling, VA, provides the www.arrl.org Web service. This move was made in order to handle the ever-increasing traffic and improve response time. Most users should be unaffected by the change, although some may have temporary problems accessing the site until all Internet name servers have caught up with the change.
The ARRL Web site comprises over 10,000 pages and over 40,000 files, along with gigabytes of data stored in databases. Because of the complexity of the site, the changeover has been underway for weeks, and there are likely to be a few glitches. Users who encounter Web pages or services that aren't working properly are asked to report them to webmaster@arrl.org.
