The following companies are known to ARRL to do testing of field strength from television signals. ARRL does not give blanket approval to testing companies, but will arbitrate disputes over who should do testing on a case-by-case basis. This list is being put together as a courtesy to those who would like to locate someone in a particular area to do testing.
There is a range of testing capability, and costs, associated with such testing. Most companies doing such testing cannot sustain themselves on testing alone, but may do this type of measurement as a part of a related business, such as two-way radio repair, television repair and sales, satellite-equipment repair and sales, etc. It is not uncommon for these companies to either sell over-the-air television antennas, satellite equipment, or both. There are consultants who will gladly pack all of their equipment on a plane and do field measurements, but the fees for this can range into the thousands of dollars. Most of those who have chosen to do field-testing have chosen less expensive, local alternatives. You should contact these companies to discuss their testing capabilities, areas of operation and testing fees.
