The Newington Amateur Radio League (NARL) and the ARRL are real-close friends (for obvious reasons). In fact, a few ARRL staffers are NARL members. And, our own Mary Hobart, K1MMH is club president!

NARL operated Field Day on Cedarcrest Mountain in Newington.

Penny, N1NAG (shown in the second photo) is a "natural" behind the mic. After all, chances are you've spoken to Penny if you've ever called ARRL. She is the ARRL receptionist and an all-around good and active "ham!"

The Party's over!

Our founder and first ARRL President Hiram Percy Maxim, W1AW, looks on with approval!

Hmmm...the studios sure are serene!

The "Harris" antenna patch panel looked like a rat's nest earlier!

Sure is quiet...

Here it is, 2:20 PM Eastern time (1820z). Less than 25 minutes ago we were in the last few minutes of Field Day. All is now peaceful and calm.

The radios and amplifiers are off. The PCs are in stand-by. The antenna patch panel is back to normal. And, I'm here blogging!

What's up with that?????? :-)

Anyway, we all hope everyone had a good time during Field Day 2009!

We're in the "Home Stretch!"

Golly! The noise on 6 meters rose to new heights! Someone arc-welding nearby??? (It's me, yours-truly trying to cut through the muck on 6 meter CW!) Cool shirt, huh?

Hey! Look who's NOT on 6 meters! There's Sean, running CW on 15.

Alan and Susie still whacking away on 40 and 20 meters SSB, respectively!

It's about 1:20 PM Eastern time (1720z). We have less than 40 minutes left to play FD.

So, we leave you with some parting shots...until I get the score tallied!

73,

Joe, NJ1Q

Another ARRL Staffer visits W1AW!

Susie, WX2L is showing Kim and Kara the ropes about operating 20 meters!

During the transmission of the W1AW Phone Field Day bulletin, Kim Dotolo (our Comptroller) and her daughter Kara showed up to see what makes us hams crazy every fourth weekend of June.

Sunday morning!

Steve, AG1YK QRV on 15 meters SSB.

Joel making headway on 40 SSB!

Is 6 meters even a real band??? (I'M JUST KIDDING!!!) Sean has put in some SERIOUS time on 6 (and 2) meters!

Alan and Susie. You're doin' good there, folks!

It's another glorious day here at W1AW. It's semi-overcast and the Sun is trying to make itself known. The temperature is about 73 degrees. But...the humidity. Now that's a different story. My Peet Brothers system sez the homiditity is about 76%. Whew!

Anyway, we're currently in the midst of sending our last CW Field Day bulletin for the day. I sincerely hope all were able to copy it. The last Field Day phone bulletin will be sent at 11 AM Eastern (1500z). And, the PSK31 bulletin will be sent at 12 PM Eastern (1600z) on all our published "digital" frequencies.

When the CW bulletin transmission is complete, look for us on 40/20 meter SSB, 15 or 10 meter SSB and 6 meters (of course!).

Have fun!
