Update On Certificates

Aug 4, 2008 11:36 ET
Sean E. Kutzko, KX9X

Hi Folks-

Certificates for the 2007 ARRL 10 GHz & Up Contest and the 2007 ARRL EME Contest have been processed and mailed today.

"That's fine," you say, "but what about IARU 2007 certificates?"

Those are being delayed. We redesigned the certificate and had hoped to have them shipped out long ago. Unfortunately, there were delays in production that we didn't forsee. We sent the completed certificate to the printers last week and should get them back within a couple weeks. Once I have the new certiicate stock in my possession, I will process them as fast as possible.

A note to those outside the US: your IARU certificates are bulk mailed to your ITU member organization first, where they are signed before getting sent to you.

My stated goal when I came on board at ARRL was to get certificates in the hands of the winners no later than one month before the next running of the same contest. While this goeal has been met in general, it has not been met for IARU 2007, and I apologize for that. I will take steps to ensure this is corrected for next year's IARU contest.

73,

Sean Kutzko KX9X
