ARRL Continuing Education Program

Field Instructors: Resources

Prepared by AD7FO

This presentation was written as a training aid in teaching the material in the ARRL Emcomm I manual.  It has a few specific to Spokane County slides that you will want to modify, these are slides 38, 39, 50 and 224.

The presentation is in Microsoft Power Point 2007 (may require a Microsoft web site patch to operate with earlier versions of Power Point).    The file is large due to the many clip art illustrations included to break the monotony of text slides.

Spokane County ARES/RACES is currently teaching this class at our monthly ARES/RACES meetings, teaching two Learning Units per meeting (three if they are short) which takes about 1 hour of our two hour meeting time.   We use different presenters from our ARES Races staff based on their knowledge and familiarity with the subject matter.  Utilizing this schedule it will take approx a one year time frame to complete the training.  It could probably be taught in a two day format as well.

We asked students to answer the questions in their manuals and turn them in at the following meeting.  We will be issuing a certificate to everyone who completes the course by handing answer sheets for each of the 23 Learning Units.

Feel free to utilize this presentation in your own organization and contact the Author if you have any questions. Please remember to include the ARRL registered trademark statements in the introduction.
