Upcoming Contests - Things to Do

2023 ARRL Field Day is June 24-25

ARRL Field Day is this weekend, starting at 1800 UTC on Saturday, June 24 and concluding at 2100 UTC on Sunday, June 25. Join thousands of amateurs from across the globe, including those from all 85 ARRL and Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC) Sections, as they participate in this popular operating event. Note that there are several rules changes this year, including the addition of a 500 W power output category for Class A, B, and C stations. The maximum power output for class D, E, and F stations remains at 100 W. There have also been changes to the scoring of contacts made from "Get on the Air" (GOTA) stations.

Be sure to visit www.arrl.org/field-day for event details and more information about the rules changes.

2023 RAC Canada Day Contest

The 2023 Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC) Canada Day Contest starts at 0000 UTC on Saturday, July 1 and will run for 24 hours. Stations in Canada send a signal report and their Canadian province or territory. VEØs and stations outside Canada send a signal report and a serial number. Contacts with stations in Canada or VEØs are worth 10 points, contacts with stations outside Canada are worth 2 points, and contacts with RAC official stations are worth 20 points. Visit https://www.rac.ca/contesting-results/ for more information.

The yearlong ARRL Volunteers On the Air event, recognizing the support and contributions of ARRL volunteers, continues. Get on the air and make contacts with as many ARRL volunteers or members as possible. There will be week-long activations of portable W1AW/# stations in all 50 states, and in several US Possessions/Territories. For a schedule of W1AW/# portable operations, see the W1AW Portable Activations Schedule. Be sure to upload your logs to LoTW and check your score online. Check out the full details at http://vota.arrl.org.

IARU Member Society Multiplier List

IARU Member Society HQ Station operators participating in the upcoming IARU HF World Championship should check that their call signs are correctly listed at https://www.dropbox.com/s/huxqnxh39fk9jxw/HQ2023.txt?dl=0.

Joe Roemming, OZ0J, and Bob Wilson, N6TV, are compiling a multiplier list for use with major contest-logging software programs. The list will only have multipliers for HQ stations; stations from IARU Region 1, Region 2, and Region 3, and Administrative Council (AC) stations. The files needed for the logging software are available at https://bit.ly/iarudtb.

Please send any corrections to Joe at contest@oz0j.dk.
