HamSCI Solar Eclipse QSO Party

The HamSCI Solar Eclipse QSO Party (SEQP) begins on Saturday, October 14 at 1200 UTC and concludes at 2200 UTC. The purpose of the SEQP is to generate propagation observations using Reverse Beacon Network (RBN) and PSK Reporter on the amateur bands before, during, and after the eclipse. The event is unique among ham radio competitions as it awards points for two-way contacts and also awards bonus points for reception reports from skimmers, RBN nodes, and the like. For more information about the SEQP, visit their webpage at https://hamsci.org/seqp-faqs.

ARRL School Club Roundup

The ARRL October School Club Roundup runs from 1300 UTC on Monday, October 16 through 2359 UTC on Friday, October 20. School Club Roundup is co-sponsored by ARRL and the Long Island Mobile Amateur Radio Club (LIMARC). For full details on the event, please visit www.arrl.org/school-club-roundup.

The yearlong ARRL Volunteers On the Air event, recognizing the support and contributions of ARRL volunteers, continues. Get on the air and make contacts with as many ARRL volunteers or members as possible. There will be week-long activations of portable W1AW/# stations in all 50 states, and in several US possessions/territories. For a schedule of W1AW/# portable operations, see the W1AW Portable Activations Schedule. Be sure to upload your logs to LoTW and check your score online. Check out the full details at http://vota.arrl.org.
