ARCO was established in 1988 and we slowly have been growing. We now have a membership of 25 families. Many of the families have both husband and wife and some of the children as licensed HAM radio operators.

In the year of 2000 a charter member, who was dedicated to the club and HAM radio, became a silent key. We had the privilege of obtaining Hugh Harlin's call sign for the club's call. The ARCO repeater and WB0JJJ now greet us every day.

The club officers at this time are President Don Noah, W9QCB, Vice President John Daebelliehn, KC9YQ, Secretary Sandy Brenner, KD5BBV, and Treasurer, Jan Hillhouse, KC0BLT.

ARCO has established a HAM radio class at the Lutie School in Theodosia, Missouri. A radio station was placed in the school by the ARCO club. This year the class was conducted as a regular school subject.

Don Noah, W9QCB teaches a ham radio class to the Lutie school students.	Lutie school teacher, Nancy Gentry, N5MFO, educates students in ham radio along with her regular classes.

A teacher at the Lutie School, Nancy Gentry, is a licensed HAM operator and with the help of members of the ARCO club the children in the sixth grade were introduced to HAM radio. We are hoping to continue this class and soon will have some new young Hams.

The ARCO club has a luncheon meeting the first Saturday of each month at 12:00 noon at the Vaught Family Restaurant, which is located just west of the junction of highways 5 and 160, west of Gainesville, Missouri. Anyone who can join us at that time is very welcome.
