I just recapped an SX-111 and found I have 120 VAC on the antenna terminal (not on the chassis). I don't know if this was a pre-existing condition since I didn't apply power before recapping it.

Other than that issue, the receiver appears to be operating normally. Can anyone suggest where to begin troubleshooting? Clearly I need to recheck my work, and the next step is to check bypass caps which were not replaced.

Any input would be appreciated!

It is likely that you need someone to do a close visual inspection to sort it out--perhaps even drawing a schematic of the circuitry connected to the antenna terminal. It is quite possible for ham gear to be extensively modified by former owners. Once in a while we hear of ideas that are actually quite dangerous--so much so that we don't want to repeat them here.
