Is there any general rule of thumb about what power level starts becoming a fire danger for a random wire antenna in trees? I am running 10W in the HF bands.

Thanks, Ron

I've run a KW into a wire antenna strung through a tree in the dry Arizona sun. I've never had a problem. My wire is insulated and the end of the wire is also insulated and sealed.

I'd love to hear other's experiences with wire antennas in trees as they relate to possible fire hazards.
