| Hi all, I agree with Bill N5VEI that there should be a discussion on getting "real" radio in the classroom. I'm an adjunct instructor at a technical college and it surprises me that there are NO real radio projects in the canned labs. I teach RF Communications at the undergraduate level. My solution has been to slowly add real radio construction projects (on my dime) so that the powers that be do not get too upset. Besides, the students really like them and they do tell the powers that be at survey time! We test them under my call. So, this fall I will be teaching a Technician class with the hopes of getting at least 20 students to pass their test and then I will follow that up with a General class. 73 John Garner, K4ZVO |
