The Civilian Conservation Corps and the AARS

The Civilian Conservation Corps placed thousands of unemployed men in work camps often located in very remote areas. The US Army, tasked with managing this multitude, established the Army Amateur Radio System to provide communications between the men at these remote camps and their families.
