RE: Radio Frequency Interference; (name withheld), Chandler, OK.
Dear Mr. Shore:
This is a follow up to our December 20, 2005 letter notifying you that we have received complaints that equipment operated by your utility may be causing harmful radio interference to an operator in the Amateur Radio Service. The complainant is:
(name and address withheld)
Chandler, OK 74834
In your response on behalf of Oklahoma Gas and Electric, dated January 30, 2006, you indicated that you were responding to (name withheld) complaints. However, (name withheld) states that the power line hardware noise continues. (name withheld) further indicates that Oklahoma Gas and Electric employees were at his location on July 31, 2006, but did not change the frequency of the antenna being used to detect noise and therefore did not locate any noise sources. You indicated that your company had retained Michael Martin, a radio frequency noise consultant. Mr. Martin indicates that the frequency of the antenna should have been changed as necessary to detect the noise.
Accordingly, you are requested to review (name withheld) complaint and advise this office within 30 days as to what steps are being taken to locate the sources of radio frequency. If you have any questions about this matter, please contact me at 717-338-2502.
Sincerely,
W. Riley Hollingsworth
