SB QST @ ARL $ARLB021 ARLB021 Summer Section Manager Election Results Announced ZCZC AG22 QST de W1AW ARRL Bulletin 21 ARLB021 From ARRL Headquarters Newington CT August 23, 2012 To all radio amateurs SB QST ARL ARLB021 ARLB021 Summer Section Manager Election Results Announced Two Section Manager elections this summer were decided by member balloting: ARRL Connecticut Section Manager Betsey Doane, K1EIC, was re-elected to a new term, and John Mueller, K2BT, was elected as the new ARRL Western New York Section Manager. New terms of office start October 1, 2012. Ballots were counted at ARRL Headquarters on Tuesday, August 21. Doane, of Shelton, received 493 votes. Her opponent -- Charles Motes Jr, K1DFS, of Plainville, received 214 votes. Doane has served as Connecticut Section Manager since December 1991. In 2012, she received the 2012 George Hart Distinguished Service Award and the EmComm Mentor of the Year Award. In Western New York, John Mueller, K2BT, of Falconer, was elected to his first term as Section Manager, with 416 votes. Incumbent Western New York Section Manager Steve Ryan, N2ITF, of Ashville, received 361 votes. Mueller, has been club president of the Chautauqua County Amateur FM Association, and he has served as an Emergency Coordinator, Instructor and Volunteer Examiner. Puerto Rico will be getting a new Section Manager starting on October 1: Rene Fonseca, NP3O, of Fajardo, will be taking over from Roberto Jiminez, KP4AC, who has served as Section Manager since 2007; Jiminez decided not to run for another term of office. The following incumbent ARRL Section Managers did not face opposition and were declared elected for their next two-year terms of office, beginning October 1, 2012: Ed Stuckey, AI7H, Idaho; Skip Jackson, KS0J, Minnesota; Lynn Nelson, W0ND, North Dakota; Frank Piper, KI8GW, Ohio; Kevin O'Dell, N0IRW, Oklahoma; David Fowler, K4DLF, Southern Florida; Fred Kleber, K9VV, US Virgin Islands.
