SB PROP @ ARL $ARLP033 ARLP033 Propagation de KT7H ZCZC AP53 QST de W1AW Propagation Forecast Bulletin 33 ARLP033 From Tad Cook, KT7H Seattle, WA August 9, 1996 To all radio amateurs SB PROP ARL ARLP033 ARLP033 Propagation de KT7H Solar activity declined this week from the week previous, but solar flux was above the average for the previous 90 days for the thirteenth day in a row. The current 90 day average has just risen from 70 to 71. Solar flux is expected to go below 70 until August 22, and then peak around the mid-seventies again on August 28. The geomagnetic field is expected to stay stable over the month. 40 meters remains the best worldwide band at night, while 20 meters is most reliable during daylight hours. W4VOS wrote a nice note pointing out an error in the text of ARLP031, which stated that there were sunspots visible on July 19, when it was really July 20 when we saw a sunspot count of 12. Also in the mail this week was a generous gift from W7EYE of the 1953 edition of The Sun, by Gerard Kuiper. Sunspot Numbers for August 1 through 7 were 32, 34, 30, 29, 20, 13 and 26, with a mean of 26.3. 10.7 cm flux was 80.4, 79.6, 79.3, 77.6, 74.1, 73, and 71.6, with a mean of 76.5.
