AT 2 PM EDT/AST OR 1800Z MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, THE CENTER OF MARILYN
WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 27.3 NORTH, LONGITUDE  69.4 WEST OR ABOUT
435 MILES SOUTHWEST OF BERMUDA. A TROPICAL STORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT
FOR BERMUDA.
 
MARILYN IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH NEAR 13 MPH AND THIS GENERAL
MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TONIGHT AND DURING THE DAY ON
TUESDAY. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 100 MPH.
 
ARRL HQ HAS RECEIVED REPORTS OF NETS ACTIVE IN SUPPORT OF ST. CROIX
AND ST. THOMAS ON THE FOLLOWING FREQUENCIES: 3.815, 7.063, 7.165,
14.200, 14.245, 14.268, AND 14.300 MHZ. AMATEURS ARE ADVISED TO
AVOID TRANSMITTING ON EMERGENCY NET FREQUENCIES UNLESS DIRECTED TO
DO SO BY NET CONTROL STATIONS.
 
ACCORDING TO A NATIONAL RED CROSS SPOKESMAN TODAY, A RED CROSS
MORATORIUM IS IN EFFECT FOR DISASTER WELFARE INQUIRIES GOING INTO
THE AFFECTED AREAS. PERSONS CAN CALL LOCAL RED CROSS CHAPTERS TO
ENTER INQUIRIES, WHICH WILL BE PROCESSED AS CONDITIONS ALLOW,
POSSIBLY AS EARLY AS TOMORROW.
