Search for and install the free ARRL Mags app in the Amazon App Store. Log in with your arrl.org username and password when prompted in the app to read or download issues. 

Issues will automatically begin downloading to your device once you open them. For quickest download, we suggest selecting "Download" below the issue and allowing it to complete before reading the issue. If the download is slow to respond, open the issue and select Menu>Download Edition to force download.

To access downloaded issues online or offline, go to Downloads, indicated by the cloud icon in the top tool bar.

All changes and updates to the ARRL Mags app will be instantly available to your desktop. In order to get these updates onto your application, including the upload of the new edition each month, you must do an application update.

To manually update: Choose the Library from your home page and go to App Updates. There you will be given a list of your apps that must be updated. Next to the ARRL Mags app, select Update.

To enable automatic updates: In Library, choose the list in the top left corner indicated by three horizontal lines. From the drop down list, choose Settings and then select Automatic Updates. Check off "Enable Automatic Updates." Now your apps will automatically update when connected to Wifi.

Please note that in order to log into an ARRL magazine on your Kindle Fire app, you can use the same username and password that is used to log in to arrl.org--not your e-mail.

If you find you are having trouble logging into your app please be sure you clear the app cache, especially after updating the newest version. To clear the cache, go into your Settings>Apps & Games>Manage All Applications and select ARRL Mags. Use the Clear Cache button. 

This needs to be done because the device can retain information from older versions of the app or old passwords from previous log ins.

This is an "artifact" of the way the platform was originally designed (it was designed by the vendor for several different purposes). You do not need to provide any information to the app, or allow it to access your contacts. Skip the request or click "no."
