Overview

The ARRL Lab and its staff provide a wide range of technical services and support to ARRL's membership, volunteers, officers and staff and the ARRL Field Organization. 

Technical Advocacy

Working in partnership with ARRL's Washington, DC Technical Relations Office, the ARRL Lab staff maintain strong contact with the professional industry to help ensure that Amateur Radio is represented in the development of industry standards and industry programs to address RFI/EMC issues. The Lab staff sit on a number of industry committees, including the IEEE EMC Society Standards Development Committee, the ANSI accredited C63 EMC committee and others.  The Lab also has informal contact with many groups and companies in industry, ranging from groups like the Society of Cabletelecommunications Engineers to industry committees such as HomePlug, developing standards for in-house broadband over power line (BPL) devices.

Product Testing 

We at the ARRL Laboratory are committed to provide its members with extensive test results of Amateur Radio related products through our monthly Product Review articles in QST. 

Radio Frequency Interference 

To have a comprehensive RFI program in place that helps members with RFI problems and to work with industry standards, organizations, helping to prevent RFI problems before they happen. 

Spectrum Protection 

To perform research and development to ensure that Radio Amateurs have continued access to spectrum and protection from interference from Non-Amateur services. 

Technical information

To maintain a pool of technical information online and help ARRL members with individual technical questions.
